your ailing Sony DVD player The wife and I went to play a rented DVD the other night, and if you have rented movies lately you probably can understand why I hate doing this. The discs are just about always scratched up by some ignorant sod buster
with pugil sticks for hands. Well, luckily this one was not, yet my Sony DVD player kept sony dvd player error c 13 00 saying it was dirty. WTF? After a bit of fumbling around I found it to play just fine in my other Sony player in the
kids toy room, so I decided to do a bit of sleuthing. Since this wasn't the first time I had run into this I was looking at two options really; either my DVD player is dirty and needs to be cleaned, or dvd error message wrong region it damaged and in need of a good fixing - most likely Office Space style. Luckily, option 3 presented it self. The offending error is C 13:00 error, which in some cases can be cleared up by calibrating the player back to Single Layer (SL) and Dual Layer (DL) discs through the diagnostics menu. What menu you say? Well, I'll show you. From all that I have read, it is best to calibrate both disc types starting with a single layer disc first. You can sony dvd player error code c:13:70 identify disc type by color since Dual layer DVD's have a gold tint to the data side and single layer DVD's have a silver tint. The other way is if you have any burned discs from your computer, I did and I just used one of those as the single layer disc. Take the disc out, turn the DVD player Off to standby mode using the remote. Then press the following 3 buttons Title, Clear, then Power within a second of each other. This will open the diagnostics menu: Test Mode Menu 0. System Diagnosis 1. Drive Auto Adjustment(Calibration) 2. Drive Manual Operation 3. Mecha Aging 4. Emergency History (has total hours of playtime) 5. Version Information 6. Video Level Adjustment To perform the disc calibration press option 1 on the Test Mode Menu to enter the Drive Auto Adjustment menu. Drive Auto Adjustment 0. All 1. DVD-SL 2. CD 3. DVD-DL 4. SACD Exit: RETURN From here selection option 1 to calibrate the single layer disc first. The drive bay will open, so insert the disc and proceed. Once it has completed the player spits the disc out and you can proceed to option 3 for the same series of steps. When everything is completed, just hit the power button and go from there. Viola! This worked like a champ for me, so hopefully I will get another 7 years out of my DVD player. I'm beginning to feel a bit like an AV tech since I have fixed my own TV

ROM C:13:00 Dirty Disk Error On Sony DVD TV Player petrula View Member Profile Feb 20 2010, 08:26 PM Post #1 Newbie Group: Members Posts: 7 Joined: http://forum.my.nero.com/index.php?showtopic=5505 27-October 09 Member No.: 8,588,339 Problem: C:13:00 Dirty Disk Error On Sony DVD TV PlayerNero 9 (Nero-126.96.36.199)Windows XP Pro SP3Sony DVP-NS715P DVD TV Player connected to TVPioneer DVD-RW DVR-111C internal burner http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-24686.html for PCMany people have reported a C:13:00 Dirty Disk Error on Sony DVD TV Players. I experienced the same problem. The C:13:00 Dirty Disk Error has nothing to do with a sony dvd dirty disc, but rather with what Nero 9 Burning Rom recorded onto the disc. I finally found out that the problem was using the wrong compilation (profile).Use the Nero 9 Burning Rom with the DVD-Video compilation (profile). That profile does not show a UDF tab.Drag all the VIDEO_TS files in the browser window from the source disc to the VIDEO_TS folder in the compilation sony dvd player window. With the DVD-Video compilation profile, DVDs play fine without giving the Sony C:13:00 Dirty Disk error message. Therefore, the Sony C:13:00 Dirty Disk Error is misleading since it has nothing to do with a dirty disc.If you then look at the created disc using Nero Info Tool 6, it has ISO9660, UDF. So even though there was no UDF tab in the compilation profile, UDF was obviously used.In contrast, if I use the following compilation properties:No MultisessionISO 9660 onlyUDF: automaticFinalizeI get the Sony C:13:00 Dirty Disk Error even though Nero Info Tool 6 indicates both discs are the same. So it is unclear what the differences are in the UDF. guys! I burned a DVD-RW with Scenarist and I pop it in my DVD player and I get this C : 13 : 00 thingy on the LCD Display and the DVD doesen't play, but the player recognizes the disc as a DVD, but gives this C : 13 : 00 Error. I made folders (AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS) in Scenarist and burned the Folders using DVDiT PE. The total was around 235MB (only about 10 mins.) Could that be a problem why the DVD Player doesen't play the DVD? Also the DVD Plays fine on my DVD-Rom Drive. I insert the disc in the DVD-Rom drive and it begins my first play (DD Trailer) and goes to the menu and plays fine through out. So why isn't the DVD Player not playing it? I am using Pioneer DVD-RW Media. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I also wanted to know how I can link to chapter 2 from a Menu. I can link to tiles. But I want to know how I can link to chapter2 or 3 from a menu. Whenever I try to link it from the BTNS to chapter2 it doesen't link. And yes I have the cursor changed to the Link Command (PInk Arrow). Thanks in Advance!:) TRILIGHT7th May 2002, 04:10Sounds like you have a Sony DVD player and if it's an older one, it won't play a DVDRW at all. My older Sony DVP-S7700 will not play any of the discs I make (returns the good ol "disc is dirty" error you report) but the newer Sony NS-700P plays them all fine. Milkman Dan7th May 2002, 04:29To link to scenes, the menu has to be of the Chapter Type. You can't link to scenes from a standard VMS menu. Deepa DvD8th May 2002, 02:27Thanks for replying bros. I do have a Sony.It reads it as a DVD though because I see the DVD Light lighten up on the LCD.<---Weird. And also how do you set the menu to be set as chapter type? Thanks!:) Milkman Dan8th May 2002, 04:41If you already have a Title menu, then after adding a second PGC to the VMS, you can select it, and in the information panel in the middle bottom, you can change the menu type...at least, I think that's how it works. I don't remember. TRILIGHT8th May 2002, 05:03Originally posted by Deepa DvD I do have a Sony.It reads it as a DVD though because I see the DVD Light lighten up on the LCD.<---Weird. Yep. That's exactly what my DVP-S7700 does. It's a shame. It's a nice unit. Had to buy a new player for the main system though. Sequoyan8th May 2002, 05:32Two answers that may help: 1) Try putting all of your menus in a language folder under the VTS. That should permit you to make the links you want. 2) If you author with more than one PGC you will get strange LCD results on settop players. Try planning around using only one PGC. This solved a similar LCD problem for me. Good luck. - The Sequoyan T

A Windows error is an error that happens when an unexpected condition occurs or when a desired operation has failed. When you have an error in Windows, it may be critical and cause your programs to freeze and crash or it may be seemingly harmless yet annoying.
A stop error screen or bug check screen, commonly called a blue screen of death (also known as a BSoD, bluescreen), is caused by a fatal system error and is the error screen displayed by the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems upon encountering a critical error, of a non-recoverable nature, that causes the system to "crash".
One of the biggest causes of DLL's becoming corrupt/damaged is the practice of constantly installing and uninstalling programs. This often means that DLL's will get overwritten by newer versions when a new program is installed, for example. This causes problems for those applications and programs that still need the old version to operate. Thus, the program begins to malfunction and crash.
Computer hanging or freezing occurs when either a program or the whole system ceases to respond to inputs. In the most commonly encountered scenario, a program freezes and all windows belonging to the frozen program become static. Almost always, the only way to recover from a system freeze is to reboot the machine, usually by power cycling with an on/off or reset button.
Once your computer has been infected with a virus, it's no longer the same. After removing it with your anti-virus software, you're often left with lingering side-effects. Technically, your computer might no longer be infected, but that doesn't mean it's error-free. Even simply removing a virus can actually harm your system.
Reimage repairs and replaces all critical Windows system files needed to run and restart correctly, without harming your user data. Reimage also restores compromised system settings and registry values to their default Microsoft settings. You may always return your system to its pre-repair condition.
Reimage patented technology, is the only PC Repair program of its kind that actually reverses the damage done to your operating system. The online database is comprised of over 25,000,000 updated essential components that will replace any damaged or missing file on a Windows operating system with a healthy version of the file so that your PC's performance, stability & security will be restored and even improve. The repair will deactivate then quarantine all Malware found then remove virus damage. All System Files, DLLs, and Registry Keys that have been corrupted or damaged will be replaced with new healthy files from our continuously updated online database.
