Frequently Asked Questions Return to Full FAQ List 1447 Views, Last Updated 4/18/2011 After I install and configure the LFConnector, I launch eCopy 4.x and get an error. It says the LFConnector is not configured, even though I've double checked everything in the Administration Console and it is correct. What else can I look at? The LFConnector makes use of .NET for some functionality, and earlier versions of eCopy (prior to approximately v4.2) are configured to only allow the first version of the framework to run. The recommended solution is to upgrade your eCopy ShareScan or ScanStation to the latest version of v4.x to correct the issue. As an alternative solution, you may try the following: Locate the "ShareScanOPManager.exe.config" file, usually found in the C:\Program Files\eCopy\ShareScan OP\ShareScanOPManager\Bin directory.

I’m going to try to explain what I think it’s happening. We have our repositories hosted using HTTP in several domains (imagine http://team1.company.local/ and http://common.company.local/). Boxen repository is on team1, projectX is on team1, but a submodule of projectX is in common. When I tried to create a manifest for projectX I found out that while projectX checked out correctly, ecopy sharescan v5 while trying to retrieve the submodules, the one in common was failing. I noticed that the provisioning process wasn’t asking me for my username and password, as usual. I looked inside my Keychain and I found that there was only an entry for http://team1.company.local/, so I proceed to remove it and try to provision again. This gave me the clue. Just after starting boxen I was asked for the username and password again for team1. Boxen was asking because it was trying to update Boxen itself, so when I got to cloning projectX repository, the credentials where already store in the Keychain. So, why the submodule wasn’t asking for credentials as Boxen was doing? Well, that’s an interaction between Git and Puppet. I started reading the gitcredentials help page and then the Git source code. It starts asking the credential helpers for username/password pairs for the domains, but if they fail, it tries to ask the user with a prompt. Those answers are used, and if successful, they are sent back to the credential helper to store them as valid credentials. Then comes Puppet. Puppet execute method disconnects stdin (it sets it to /dev/null) and sends

A Windows error is an error that happens when an unexpected condition occurs or when a desired operation has failed. When you have an error in Windows, it may be critical and cause your programs to freeze and crash or it may be seemingly harmless yet annoying.
A stop error screen or bug check screen, commonly called a blue screen of death (also known as a BSoD, bluescreen), is caused by a fatal system error and is the error screen displayed by the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems upon encountering a critical error, of a non-recoverable nature, that causes the system to "crash".
One of the biggest causes of DLL's becoming corrupt/damaged is the practice of constantly installing and uninstalling programs. This often means that DLL's will get overwritten by newer versions when a new program is installed, for example. This causes problems for those applications and programs that still need the old version to operate. Thus, the program begins to malfunction and crash.
Computer hanging or freezing occurs when either a program or the whole system ceases to respond to inputs. In the most commonly encountered scenario, a program freezes and all windows belonging to the frozen program become static. Almost always, the only way to recover from a system freeze is to reboot the machine, usually by power cycling with an on/off or reset button.
Once your computer has been infected with a virus, it's no longer the same. After removing it with your anti-virus software, you're often left with lingering side-effects. Technically, your computer might no longer be infected, but that doesn't mean it's error-free. Even simply removing a virus can actually harm your system.
Reimage repairs and replaces all critical Windows system files needed to run and restart correctly, without harming your user data. Reimage also restores compromised system settings and registry values to their default Microsoft settings. You may always return your system to its pre-repair condition.
